STATESVILLE NC June 23 2000 Statesville, North Carolina - Following the performance routine maintenance, the Lear 24 was taxied by the maintenance personnel. Unfortunately the brakes had overheated and failed allowing the aircraft to run off the runway and down a 40-50 foot ditch. AAR&S using a crane raised the aircraft on to one of our specially designed trailers. After a short trip back to the maintenance hanger, the aircraft was unloaded for repair. The aircraft sustained very little damage.
